On September 1, 1974, Alamo Rent a Car was born in Florida, U.S.A. operating four stations in this state and later expanded its operations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Since 2002, Alamo has had an Integrated Quality and Environmental Management System certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, respectively.
We offset each of the tons of CO2 emitted by the vehicles in our operational fleet.
To do so, we rely on the Payment for Environmental Services (PES) program of the National Fund for Forestry Financing (FONAFIFO), with 21 hectares reforested on the Nicoya Peninsula and more than 60 hectares of primary forest protected on the Osa Peninsula.
In 2011 we obtained the Certification of Tourism Sustainability (CST) with three levels, granted by the ICT.
